Ruben & Margarita Martinez, Senior & Founding Pastors
Ruben & Margarita were married in 1973. In 1985 Pastor Ruben made a pact with God. He told God that if He healed his dying mother he would follow Him for the rest of his life. His mother was healed; she was saved and lived another 20 years. Today she has gone to be with the Lord and Pastor Ruben and his wife continue to serve Him. God gave Pastor Ruben a mission that motivates him to tell others about the salvation of Christ, the love of Christ and the abundance of life in Christ. In 1990 he and his brother cofounded a church where his brother still pastors today, and in 1996 he was moved to start Christ Is Salvation Church. Pastor Ruben & Margarita both attended the King's College & Seminary in Van Nuys California. They still today attend Seminars and Pastoral Conferences as they feel it is important to continuing learning and give that to God's people. Pastor Ruben for 30 years was a successful auto mechanic and investor. He is currently retired from this profession which allows Him to be a full time pastor without receiving a salary. Pastor is not only the leader of the church but leads in outreaches in the valley. Pastor Margarita not only serves as her husband's support but also as ladies ministry leader in Spanish. They both find it critical for people to know biblical truths that include: God loves them, who they are in Christ, it is possible to stand firm on God, God is good, and He is in control. Pastor says that "God transmitted His love by giving His Son. We also transmit His love by giving to the community." This vision and mission moves them both to continue advancing the kingdom of God, and to reach the entire Coachella Valley by having a facility that serves the community where God has placed them.
